Going into the third week of the new marketing year, soybean sales took off and had a great week with export sales reported at 42.3 million bushels for this year's crop. However, there were cancellations of 7.9 million bushels reported for next years soybean crop. This is somewhat suspect as last week USDA reported new crop sales of this exact amount of 7.9 million bushels.

It is good to know the second and third largest annual consumers of US corn are exhibiting signs of resurrected demand. Very early in the 2009-10 marketing year weekly corn export sales have bettered the amount needed to per week to reach USDA's ultimate target of 2.2 billion bushels, two of the first three weeks despite a plethora of world (feed) wheat stocks.
