Two farm workers in Canada have been found to have a different swine flu than the one currently being spread. These workers likely contracted it from pigs which also tested positive for swine flu. Health officials suggest when people get it from pigs that it usually stops there and is not transferred from person to person. In other words, it is acting like swine flu typically would. The current pandemic version is a person to person variant.
A US teenager, diagnosed with swine flu in Hong Kong, has recovered from her case of H1N1. What is unique is not that her illness was mild and she has since recovered, but that researchers suggest her version is resistant to Tamiflu. Currently, the only drugs given to people infected with the flu are Tamiflu and Relenza.
