Paul Georgy earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Production from Southern Illinois University located in Carbondale, Illinois, graduating in May of 1973 on the Dean's list.
From 1973 to 1981, Georgy was the President/general manager of Bull Valley Simmental in Crystal Lake, Illinois. His responsibilities included marketing of purebred cattle in the United States and international markets. General management duties included 2,500 acres of crop land and a 500-cow purebred Simmental herd.
Georgy became the assistant branch manager for Heinold Commodities located in Harvard, Illinois, from 1981 to 1984. Developing risk management strategies for agricultural producers and commercials were his main responsibilities.
From 1984 to the present time, Georgy has been involved as president/CEO of Allendale, Inc., a worldwide agricultural advisory and research firm. The firm provides agricultural commodity price research and risk management alternatives for producers, major food companies, international corporations, foreign governments, and major news vendors.
Georgy's responsibilities include overall management of Allendale's brokerage and research operations. These include: Allendale's main office brokerage operations in McHenry, IL and Allendale's 14 branch offices throughout the United States. Allendale’s research product distribution on the internet and other media formats. He also develops educational and trading seminars throughout the United States and Canada. Georgy is a registered commodity representative, handling commercial and individual trading accounts and is one of the livestock analysts for Allendale, Inc.
Georgy served as a board member of the National Introducing Brokers Association (NIBA) from 1992 to 2000. He has held the office positions of secretary, treasurer, vice-president and president for the NIBA. Currently, Georgy holds an elected position as GIB Representative to the National Futures Association's (NFA) Board of Directors. In 2007 he was elected to the executive committee of the NFA.
Georgy has been active in the high school booster club serving on the Allocation Committee for 9 years. He also has served as a committee member for the United Way of McHenry County and has recently completed his term as President of the United Way of McHenry County. He is a past officer and board member of the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation. And he has played an integral role in numerous fund raising projects for his church and community.
Georgy is currently involved in the operations of the Crystal Lake Food Pantry. He has taken a position on the Leadership Board for the College of Agricultural Sciences at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and especially the grandchildren.
